In one of my mags, I found something on HM (High Maintainance) & LM (Low Maintainance). There are such things as being high maintainance, but some of them also keep it for reputation. Not the only the girls, even some of the guys are on the HM side. This can harm the relationship badly when it comes to all this.
Are you one of them?
Take this survey, and find out about yourselves.
Q1: You're going to a party and while you're glammed up in new kitten heels and LBD, your man is in his usual jeans and T-shirt. Do you...?
a) Sulk, and refuse to go unless he puts on that Armani suit you bought him.
b) Ask him to maybe put on a shirt - saying that you don't want him to feel like he stands out when everyone else is dressed up.
c) Not worry about what he's wearing - if he's comfortable, that's fine.
Q2: He's cooking dinner for you for the firsdt time. When you arrive, he proudly displays his cultinary feat: Spaghetti bolognaise from a jar (and slightly burnt). What do you do?
a) Scream "I can't eat that!"
b) Say, "That's lovely, honey, but its a bit burnt - shall we order a pizza?
c) Say, "Spaghetti, my favourite" and dig in, thinking, at least he made an effort.
Q3: You've made plans to go out together, but when he calls to say he's too tired to leave the house, and asks if he can reschedule. You say:
a) "Well, if you can't be bothered to go out with me..." hoping he'll fall prey to your pout.
b) Explain how much you were looking forward to it and suggest he may change his mind after a nap.
c) Tell him that's fine - you can go and meet a girlfriend for a drink, anyway.
Q4: You've bought a new dress and want to knock his socks off. When you meet him for dinner he doesn't notice how you look. what do you do?
a) Sulk all through dinner and storm off home after dessert, saying "You just don't care, do you?"
b) Ask him if he notices your new frock and wait for the compliments to come rolling in - once you've point out something like that out to him, he really goes to town! (Guilt works a treat!)
c) Feel put-out, but don't say anything - you're being overly sensitive about it.
Q5: You ask him to book a weekend away for the two of you, and you're not happy with his choice - a motor trade show in Bangkok wasn't what you had in mind. What do you say?
a) "All you care about is cars - you can be so selfish sometimes! I'm not wasting my weekend on a trade show!"
b) "I'm happy to come to that with you, but can we go away again soon to somewhere a little more romantic?"
c) "Sure, whatever you want. Sounds like, erm, fun."
Mostly As:
You're the ultimate HM girl. Nothing is good for enough for you because you want everything to be sooo fabulous. You think he should automatically know this, of course, and recent it when he doesn't.
"This women expects her bloke to be a mind reader - honestly! How do men know what women waht if they don't tell them? It's all this blaming the man thing that makes HM women so hard to deal with! God, she sounds like a nightmare!"
Mostly Bs:
You are quite HM because you aren't prepared to accept something that's not to your liking, but you are prepared to compromise, which means that your relationships are fairly LM most of the time.
"This women sounds like she's quite able to have a relationship witout making the bloke's life a complete nightmare. She seems to explain things rather than just refuse to do something and then use it against a man later on. Have you got her number?"
Mostly Cs:
You're the epitome of LM - you don't ever want to rock the boat, so you let your man dictate to you and never actually say what you want. Either you are completely happy with his decisions, or you're just a good actress who is slowly going mad with all your built-up resentment.
"I think in some ways this women sounds like a dream- you can gurantee getting your way with herm but I think it could be dangerous because you could end uo taking her totally for granted. And if she's actually stewing on it all, chances are she could stab you in your sleep one day!"
Guess what?? I'm mostly Bs!!
WAh, lucky me!!! Or, should I say...lucky Nidz?? :-p
